Depends on if it has "reverse polarity protection" or not, not all inverters do. Most grid-tie inverters include DC reverse polarity protection, and it usually consists of a reverse-connected shunt diode.

Reverse polarity protection, also known as reverse hookup protection, prevents damage to a load from a negative voltage at the input during a reverse-connected battery or an inductive load disconnect from a battery. It does not necessarily block reverse current flowing into the battery from the load or the power source.
