How can CO2 be stored in Rotterdam?
Read more here. Porthos is developing a project to transport CO2 from industrial companies in the port of Rotterdam and store it in empty gas fields under the North Sea. Thanks to Porthos, some 2.5 million tonnes of CO2 will be captured annually and stored permanently.

Upon completion, the brand-new infrastructure will enable the transport of CO2 in the port of Rotterdam to depleted gas fields in the North Sea. Following the final investment decision (FID) in October 2023, Porthos began awarding assignments to the industry and the supply chain to realize the project.
